Flowing Hair

This is my latest paper art. Its a mermaid. Surprised? She has some of my favorite hair to date. This piece is cut from paper, with a bit of details painted on with water colors. So tell me what you think, and I'd love any suggestions for my next paper art!

Paper Cut Outs

Sooooo I think I love paper cut outs. They are simply too fun to look at. More to be posted soon. Here is a look at the inspiration piece + the finale. I'm purchasing sturdier paper soon & hope to do more at that time.

Peter Pan

So one of the most influential fairytales growing up was Peter Pan, so I can't help but pay homage to it in many of my drawings. Its a way for a part of me to never grow up, and it allows me to forever explore Neverland and the mysteries therein.

Lochness Monster

Do you believe in the Lochness Monster? I sometimes feel like it wouldn't be all that far fetched. I mean, come on, mermaids have eluded us for how long? Ok, I'm teasing I don't really believe in mermaids. But a part of me is still holding out ;)

Playing with Photoshop a bit more, thanks to my husband who so kindly has given my computer a bit more space so it doesn't run like a 10 year old dinosaur.

Hangman's Tree

This piece goes with the images for Neverland from a few weeks back. This is the hideout for Peter Pan & the Lost Boys.

The Wolf

I listen best when I am drawing, and according to a recent study its been proven that it helps the brain. Apparently when you doodle you are using the half of your brain which wanders or daydreams and loses attention. So today, during General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I doodled to keep myself actively listening. This mornings two hour session gave me this little piece. Inspired by one of the most frightening fairytales (aside from Hansel & Gretel).
